The VERTEX 2-stroke pistons are manufactured using gravity casting from an aluminum alloy containing 18% silicon. The inclusion of silicon reduces thermal expansion at operating temperatures, resulting in decreased susceptibility to piston slap and breakage. Additionally, silicon enhances the wear resistance of the pistons, subsequently extending their lifespan. Each piston kit includes the piston, piston ring(s), piston pin, and piston pin retainers. There are various configurations for 2-stroke pistons: Replica, Race, and Pro Race – with Replica maintaining the original design, Race focusing on performance enhancement, and Pro Race featuring a forged special piston for high-performance needs. This kit ensures your engine runs smoothly and efficiently, whether for standard replacement or high-performance racing applications.
