Visors with a lower light transmission of 50-80% are labeled 'For daytime use only', meaning they are only suitable for daytime use. Cleaning: Similar to the helmet, lukewarm water with a bit of liquid soap should be used for visor cleaning. The soap concentration should not be too strong, as it could collect under the plastic parts and cause damage. Visor Cleaners: There are special visor cleaners available, which can often be used to clean the entire helmet. Use them sparingly to avoid potential damage to rubber and plastic parts. Drying: To dry the visor and avoid unwanted streaks, use a lint-free, fine microfiber cloth. Scratches: Never quickly wipe the visor with your motorcycle gloves or other unsuitable or dirty objects. Especially for coated visors, this can cause scratches. If a visor has severe scratches, it should be replaced. Scratched visors accelerate the aging process and pose a safety risk by obstructing vision. Mirror-coated visors can scratch easily if handled insensitively, causing unwanted glare. Plasticizers: Visors contain plasticizers that evaporate over the years, further intensified by frequent UV exposure, leading the visor to lose flexibility. In an accident, it might shatter and cause severe cuts on the face. Replacement: The visor should be replaced at least every five years.
