With the D2 and D3 MTB helmets, Troy Lee Designs has already proven that technology, safety, and aesthetic design are not mutually exclusive. With the new D4 Composite, Troy Lee reinforces this philosophy once again! Developed and constructed with shell design and materials from the aerospace industry, the weight of the D4 Composite helmet has been reduced to 1050 grams without compromising strength and stability. It comes equipped with the MIPS® Brain Protection System—a low-friction layer integrated into the helmet designed to reduce rotational motion transferred to the brain during angled impacts. For optimal airflow, the D4 Composite channels cool air through 20 high-flow intake ports and then pushes it through airflow channels to keep your head cool while you speed down the trail. The washable Quick-Release XT2-3D cheek pads and X-Static/XT2 headliner ensure a perfect fit and maximum comfort. A soft TLD drawstring helmet bag is included for stylish transport and helmet protection. Outer shell: 80% fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP), 10% aramid (Kevlar®), 10% carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP). Inner shell: 100% expanded polystyrene (EPS). Liner: 100% polyester (headliner), 75% polyurethane, 25% polyester (cheek pads). Double-D ring closure: 100% stainless steel. Exceeds bike certification standards: CPSC 1203, CE EN 1078:2002+A1:2012, ASTM F1952-15, ASTM F2032-15, ASTM F2040-11
