The SHOEI Visor CJ-3 complies with the current ECE R 22/05 helmet standard, which requires visors to have a light transmission of at least 80% for all-day use. Visors with a light transmission of 50-80% are designated 'For daytime use only' and should be used only during the day. For optimal cleaning, warm water with a little liquid soap should be used, similar to helmet maintenance. Excessive concentration or aggressive soap can accumulate under plastic parts and cause damage. Special visor cleaners can also be used but in moderation to prevent damage to rubber and plastic parts. For drying, use a lint-free, fine microfiber cloth to avoid unwanted streaks. Never wipe the visor with motorcycle gloves or other unsuitable dirty objects to prevent scratches, especially on coated visors. In case of significant scratches, the visor should be replaced to mitigate accelerated aging and safety risks. Mirrored visors are particularly susceptible to scratches and can cause unwanted glare if mishandled. Visors contain plasticizers, which evaporate over time, particularly with frequent UV exposure, reducing the visor's flexibility and increasing the risk of it shattering in an accident. It is recommended to replace the visor every five years; the production date can be found on the left side of the SHOEI visors in a four-digit format (month, year).
