The REGINA HPE chain is a top-tier, maintenance-free chain equipped with an advanced tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C) coating on the surfaces of its bushings and rollers. This coating is recognized as the most sophisticated DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating available today, combining exceptional hardness with a low friction coefficient. Consequently, the REGINA HPE chain eliminates the need for regular lubrication while ensuring an operational lifespan equivalent to or exceeding that of standard chains. The HPE chain can be installed without the need for ta-C coated front and rear sprockets. However, when fitting a new HPE chain, it's strongly recommended to replace both the front and rear sprockets with new ones, which must be made from steel to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
