This silicon content reduces thermal expansion at operating temperatures, making the pistons less prone to rattling and breakage. Additionally, silicon improves the pistons' wear characteristics, thereby extending their lifespan. The piston kit includes piston rings, a piston pin, and piston pin clips. VERTEX offers three types of 2-stroke piston designs: Replica (matches the original shape), Race (performance-enhancing design), and Pro Race (forged special piston).
