The Turtle Airbags excel particularly when it comes to impacts with pointed and sharp-edged objects such as guardrails, branches, or motorcycle parts. Traditional airbag systems mitigated the speed of impact but couldn't completely prevent point-specific forces from penetrating through to the body or damaging the airbag. This weakness is resolved with Turtle Technology. The sturdy SAS-TEC EN1621-2 back protector not only shields the airbag from damage but also ensures that forces acting on a small area are exponentially better absorbed. With the broad protector, even the back areas previously not covered by an airbag are now protected. The system is mechanically triggered by a tether, which can be attached to the vehicle without tools (inflates within just 100 ms). The outer textile material is highly abrasion-resistant, and the vest features reflective details all around for better visibility in poor weather and darkness. It provides stabilization for the head, neck, and spine. The airbag volume ranges from 14 to 28 liters, depending on the vest size. After replacing the CO2 cartridge, the airbag system can be reactivated and is ready for use in less than 2 minutes. For comfort, it includes a 3D Air Mesh inner lining for optimal ventilation, large armholes for unrestricted movement, three individual adjustment settings on the torso for a perfect fit, and one outer pocket for cash, cards, etc.
