VERTEX 2-stroke pistons are cast using a gravity casting process from an aluminum alloy containing 18% silicon. The silicon content helps to reduce thermal expansion at operating temperature, which in turn makes the piston less prone to rattles and breakage. Additionally, silicon gives the pistons better wear resistance, extending the overall lifespan of the piston. The kit includes the piston, piston ring(s), piston pin, and piston pin clips! For 2-stroke piston varieties: Replica = piston matches the original form, Race = performance-enhancing piston design, Pro Race = forged special piston.
